Title : Utilization of carbon dioxide in some organic synthesis
Abstract:
Short Carbon dioxide, a natural molecule, has been utilized in the synthesis of chemicals for several decades. Its innocuous chemical properties make it a favorable substance to incorporate in such synthetic processes. The conversion of carbon dioxide into profitable chemicals such as esters, aldehydes, carboxylic acids, alcohols, amides and heterocycles has received ever increasing attention in recent years, not only because it is the chief anthropogenic greenhouse gas, but also because it has been regarded as an abundant, inexpensive, nontoxic, nonflammable, and renewable C1-building block
Audience Take Away:
- Using of CO2 as a building block in organic synthesis
- Synthesis of oxazolidinones and another heterocycles from CO2
- Application of the most active, selective and reusable catalytic systems in CO2 cycloaddition reactions
