Abstract:
Saudi Aramco/South Ghawar Producing Department has embarked on a journey to ensure major rotating equipment sustainability via lubrication quality from acceptable to outstanding. Compliance with multiple guidelines is strictly enforced and melted in all its operations and practices
This requires raising the standards for all aspects of lubrication including optimizing PM’s, improving oil handling, optimizing sampling locations, and adopting new paradigms for lube oil and system cleanliness. These are some of the many facets that need to be examined to ensure the all aspects of oil quality are considered. The presentation will focus on what the user can do to assess their own lubrication quality and make positive steps that will make a difference. As with all reliability concerns, the problems and their solutions need to be carefully communicated to all stakeholders with a consistent plan and message in order to obtain the buy-in that will be needed to turn vision into reality.
