Abstract:
JASARA – 3D & Reverse Engineering Center is a strategic initiative established to strengthen maintenance reliability and accelerate digital transformation within YASREF through the application of advanced engineering technologies. By integrating 3D scanning, reverse engineering, CAD modeling, additive manufacturing, and digital engineering workflows, the center provides practical solutions to maintenance challenges while building sustainable in-house capabilities.
The initiative was created in response to persistent industry issues, including extended procurement lead times, obsolete or discontinued spare parts, limited OEM support, and dependency on external suppliers. Instead of relying solely on conventional procurement, JASARA adopts a structured engineering process that converts physical components into validated digital assets. These assets can be reused for local manufacturing, rapid reproduction of critical parts, engineering verification, and long-term preservation of technical knowledge.
The presentation will demonstrate how this digital spare parts ecosystem improves maintenance responsiveness, minimizes equipment downtime, reduces inventory requirements, and enhances supply chain resilience. Real industrial examples will illustrate how reverse engineering and additive manufacturing have successfully reduced costs, shortened delivery times, and enabled faster restoration of critical equipment. In addition, the presentation will highlight governance practices, quality assurance, engineering validation, and documentation processes that ensure manufactured components meet operational requirements.
