A case study examines practically every aspect of a subject’s background in order to find patterns and reasons for behavior. A case study is a type of research approach that is most commonly used in the social and life sciences. Case study research does not have a single definition. However, to put it plainly ‘A case study is an in-depth investigation of a person, a group of people, or a unit with the goal of generalizing across multiple units.
