Manufacturing technology refers to a variety of current scientific, manufacturing, and engineering approaches that aid in industrial production and diverse manufacturing processes. The platform for the functioning of unit processes is manufacturing equipment. For the manufacture of high-quality, cost-effective products, properly designed equipment is needed. Equipment design is the widest of the six enabling technologies since it is the vehicle through which all of the other enabling technologies are implemented.
